2024 Rock/Metal Grammy Award Winners
Grammy Notes:
During a pre-ceremony event Green Day performed “American Idiot.” Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, as he has done in the past, changed the lyrics from “don’t want a redneck agenda” to “don’t want a MAGA agenda.”
Longtime couple, Kelly Osbourne and Slipknot’s Sid Wilson walked the red carpet.
Jelly Roll appeared in an Uber Eats commercial.
U2 provided the first live performance broadcast from the Sphere in Las Vegas. After the single “Atomic City” Bono announced the winner of the Best Pop Vocal category – Taylor Swift.
During the In Memoriam portion Stevie Wonder paid tribute to Tony Bennett singing a duet with a taped Bennett on “For Once In My Life” followed by a tribute to Tina Turner introduced by Oprah.
After most of his fans had gone to bed, Billy Joal sang “Turn The Lights Back On,” his first single in decades.
