The ballad, which supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s “Talk Away The Dark” campaign, is the band’s tenth #1 on the chart.

Pearl Jam

PJ returns to #1 for the first time in 26 years. The band last reached the top spot with “Given To Fly” in early ’98.

April 13thThe Glass

Foo Fighters

The Foo’s third consecutive #1 follows “Rescued” and “Under You.” Both topped the chart last year. All three songs are from the band’s eleventh studio album, “But Here We Are.”

April 20thFriendly Fire

Linkin Park

The song was recorded during the sessions for “One More Light” but was not included on the ’17 album. It did land on “Papercuts,” the band’s ’24 greatest hits collection.

Green Day

It’s the band’s ninth song to top the chart and their second in a row, following “The American Dream Is Killing Me.” Both tracks are from Green Day’s 14th studio album, “Saviors.”

Metallica

It’s the band’s fourth straight #1 – “Too Far Gone?,” “72 Seasons” and “Lux Æterna” were the first three. All four are from Metallica’s eleventh album, “72 Seasons.”

June 1stTruth

Godsmack

The track, from the band’s eighth album, is their 13th song to top the survey. The power ballad came about after frontman Sully Erna (pictured) suffered a relationship betrayal that took a lot of processing to get through.

Five Finger Death Punch

Their fifteenth #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart is a mash-up of DMX’s ’09 song “The Way It’s Gonna Be” and Five Finger Death Punch’s “Judgement Day.”

Nothing More

The band’s second #1 on the chart follows the Grammy nominated “Go To War” which reached the top in ’17.

July 13thWreckage

From “Dark Matter,” the band’s twelfth studio effort, the song is their fifth to top the chart. The first four are “Daughter” (’93), “Better Man” (”95), “Given To Fly” (’98) and “Dark Matter” (’24).

The Country-Rock collaboration had a brisk five-week trip to the top. It was the third #1 for Falling In Reverse (“Popular Monster” and “Zombified” were the first two) and Jelly Roll (he previously scored with “Dead Man Walking” and “Need A Favor”).

The track is from “The Surface Seems So Far.” “It’s about rising up against people who have a vision for you that you don’t share,” offers frontman Shaun Morgan.

September 28thCan U See Me In The Dark?

Halestorm/I Prevail

The track is currently a standalone single. It’s Halestorm’s seventh #1 and I Prevail’s third – their first since “Bad Things” in ’22.

I Prevail formed in ’13. Their debut EP “Heart Vs. Mind” was known for the Metal cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.” They have released three albums to date including ’22’s “True Power.”
