Sex Pistols Returning To North America

Frank Carter & The Sex Pistols (Paul Cook, Glen Matlock and Steve Jones) have announced a North American tour that launches in September – their first U.S. trek in two decades.

“I think everybody needs this band right now. I think the world needs this band right now. And I think definitely America is screaming out for a band like The Sex Pistols,” noted Carter.

The London based band fronted by Johnny Rotten (John Lydon) formed in ’75.  Although their initial career lasted just two and a half years, they became culturally influential in popular music and initiated the Punk movement in the United Kingdom.

“Punk is an energetic music,” Carter continued. “It’s one where you can go and vent and let your hair down, hopefully in a safe manner. Fingers crossed, no bottles or pigs’ hooves.”

Carter & The Sex Pistols are currently on tour in Japan Australia and New Zealand.
