Metallica Receives Music Honor

Metallica received the SoundExchange Hall Of Fame Award earlier this month (announced 11/27).

The band was honored by SoundExchange for being one of the most streamed acts in music tech organization’s 20-year history.

Metallica is considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and for good reason,” said Michael Huppe, SoundExchange’s president and CEO. “They have built and rebuilt themselves, continually honing their epic sound with each album and constantly expanding their appeal without abandoning their roots.”

Metallica has sold nearly 120 million albums worldwide while generating more than 15-billion streams.

SoundExchange collects and distributes digital performance royalties on behalf of more than 650,000 music creators.
