“Screaming Suicide” Tops Mainstream Rock
Metallica’s “Screaming Suicide” tops Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart (dated 5/18). It’s the band’s fourth straight #1 – “Too Far Gone?” (November 2023), “72 Seasons” (last July) and “Lux Æterna” (December 2022) were the first three.
All four tracks are from “72 Seasons,” Metallica’s 11th studio album.
Metallica owns 14 career #1s on Mainstream Rock. Their first was “Until It Sleeps” in ’96.
The band is tied with Foo Fighters and Five Finger Death Punch for the third-most #1s in the chart’s four decade-plus history.
“Screaming Suicide” ends Beartooth’s one week run at the top with “I Was Alive.”
