Metallica Performs At Elton John Tribute

Metallica were one of many acts honoring Elton John and his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin during a (3/20) tribute concert at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.

Metallica opened the show with a rendition of Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding” from John’s ’73 double album “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”

Elton and Bernie collected the Library Of Congress Gershwin Prize for their contribution to music at the invitation-only event.

Elton John and lyricist Bernie Taupin joined forces in ’67 and went on to compose “Crocodile Rock,” “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting,” “I’m Still Standing,” “Your Song,” “Tiny Dancer,” and “Rocket Man”

PBS stations nationwide will premiere the concert on Monday, April 8th, at 8 PM ET (check local listings), with streaming on PBS.org and the PBS app.
