KISS Avatars Revealed
After KISS played “Rock And Roll All Nite,” the final song of the final concert of their “End of the Road” farewell tour at New York City’s Madison Square Garden (12/2) guitarist Paul Stanley told the audience “The end of this road is the beginning of another road.” Though the band exited the stage amid a flurry of fire, there was more to the show,
As “God Gave Rock n’ Roll To You” played KISS avatars appeared using “a combination of LED screen projection, lasers, and heavy metal smoke and pyrotechnics” helping the images appear “three dimensional and much larger than life.” Video screens displayed the message: “A new era begins.”
George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic was tasked with creating the new virtual KISS.
“People say, ‘Well, what are you going to do when you stop?’” Stanley noted in a promotional video. “Well, the band will never stop. Because we don’t own the band. The fans own the band. The world owns the band.”
Pophouse Entertainment will determine how, where and when the avatar version of KISS will roll out.
