Halestorm – 10 Best

“As a kid, when a lot of my friends were into Backstreet Boys, I attached myself to Alice Cooper, Cinderella, and Van Halen,” Lzzy Hale, Halestorm frontwoman, said in an interview. Halestorm, essentially a melodic Metal outfit, regularly displays those influences.

#10. Amen

According to Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale “the song is about personal freedom to do whatever you want.” The song, released in ’15, topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

#9. Mayhem

“We really wanted to bridge the gap, so to speak, between what people see on our live shows and then what people hear on all our records,” noted Hale. “We did all of the tracks live (for “Into The Wild Life”), just the four of us standing in a circle in this beautiful church in Nashville. The goal was to capture performances and moments that the four of us only know when we’re in our practice space or back in the day when we used to practice in our parents’ basement.”

#8. It’s Not You

“That was one of the first riffs I wrote on guitar, when I was 17,” offered Hale. “I was coming from being a piano player. So my perspective on the fretboard is different to how a lot of people approach guitar, if that’s their first instrument.”

“Now, it’s an incredible fan favorite… it’s stood the test of time.”

#7. I Miss The Misery

“I feel like we crossed over into not proving that we deserve to be here, but proving that we deserve to stay here,” Hale remembers. “As time goes on, you know more about the inner workings of everything, and it becomes a little less magical. “

#5. Mz. Hyde

#3. I Get Off

The debut single from the band’s self-titled debut album was written by Hale, album producer, Howard Benson, Dana Calitri, Kathy Sommer, and Nina Ossoff. Critics were split with one describing the track as “low-grade stripper-Rock” with Hale “belting her sexual devotion in a rather unappealing way” to “instantly catchy” with “ever-building verses blending seamlessly into soaring choruses.”
