Girlschool were part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal scene. Original members Kim McAuliffe and Denise Dufort are still in the band but original lead guitarist Kelly Johnson died of cancer in ’07 and was replaced by Jackie Chambers in ’99.

In January ’19, the band parted ways with bassist Enid Williams, making way for the return of Tracey Lamb (’87-’91 and ’93-’00) completing the band’s current lineup.
