Elton John Earns An EGOT

Elton John won the Best Variety Special (Live) Emmy (on 1/15) for his live Disney+ concert film “Elton John: Farewell From Dodger Stadium.”

The honor made him only the 19th person to receive a Grammy, Oscar, Tony and Emmy for an EGOT – an acronym for winning the top prizes in four different fields.

Elton has won five Grammys including Best Pop Performance in ’87 for “That’s What Friends Are For”; an Oscar in ’95 when “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” from “The Lion King” won Best Original Song; and a Best Original Score Tony (theater) for the musical “Aida.”  And now, he has an Emmy.
