Arch Enemy Guitarist Departs… His Replacement Announced
Arch Enemy have “amicably” parted ways with longtime – 9 years – guitarist Jeff Loomis (pictured above).
“We respect that he’s in a place and time in life where he needs to step out of Arch Enemy and we all wish him nothing but the best moving forward,” wrote band founder and chief songwriter Michael Amott in a 12/30 post.
Amott added that Joey Concepcion, a friend of the band, will be stepping in. He filled in for Loomis on a couple of ’18 European festival shows.
Loomis, who has released two solo albums, the most recent being ’12’s “Plains Of Oblivion,” wrote songs for the band’s “Will To Power” album. “But they didn’t make it, only because it wasn’t in the style that they were looking for,” stated Loomis. He didn’t contribute any songs but played the solos on the band’s next effort, ’22’s “Deceivers.”
