Boston leader Tom Scholz receives the Celebrity Animal Advocate of the Year award at the Animal Rights National Conference in L.A. The guitarist dedicates the honor to late Boston singer Brad Delp, who took his own life the previous March. “(Brad’s) commitment to ethical vegetarianism over 30-years ago was a major factor in my emerging awareness of the unnecessary cruelty to animals in our society,” says Scholz. 2007

Candlebox issue their comeback album, “Into The Sun.” This is the Seattle group’s first studio effort since 98’s “Happy Pills.” “Making this record reminded me of the first album,” says guitarist Peter Klett. “We didn’t feel that we needed to find the sound, it was there and the goal was to capture it in the recording.” 2008

Tragically Hip launch their farewell tour following news that frontman Gord Downie has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The brief trek begins in Victoria, B.C. 2016

Billboard reports that Queen’s original 1975 promo video for “Bohemian Rhapsody” has garnered more than one-billion views on YouTube. It’s the first pre-1990s music video to hit that mark.  2019

Kid Rock cancels his sold-out outdoor performance at the North Dakota State Fair citing concerns over high winds shortly before it was scheduled to start.  Some fans don’t take the news well with a few arrests for unruly behavior. “I know it sucks but none of us can control mother nature,” writes Rock on Twitter. 2022

Want the best seats in the house?  Start a fight. Shinedown’s Brent Smith stops the band’s performance in Toronto to break up an altercation in the audience. The singer goes into the crowd to end the scuffle and has the fight participants ‘chill’ while watching a portion of the show from the side of the stage.  2022

Malaysia’s government cuts short the Good Vibes music festival in Kuala Lumpur after Matt Healy, lead singer for The 1975, slams the country’s anti-LGBTQ laws and kisses his bassist, Ross MacDonald, during their performance the previous evening.  2023

Disturbed’s concert in Phoenix is canceled due to “excessive heat” which keeps the band’s equipment from powering up properly.  Also, Paramore postpones their concert in San Francisco two hours before it is scheduled start “due to sickness within the touring party.” Fans take to Twitter to express concern and to criticize Paramore for announcing the cancelation so late.  Disturbed and Paramore reschedule the concerts.  2023

Guitarist Christopher Amott announces his departure from Dark Tranquillity. Amott, a founding member of Arch Enemy, officially joined Dark Tranquillity in ‘20 after being in the band’s touring lineup since ‘17.  2023
