“Brave New World,” the twelfth Iron Maiden studio album, is their first studio release since the return of lead singer Bruce Dickinson (who left in ‘93) and guitarist Adrian Smith (who left in ’90).  2000

Ozzy Osbourne files a lawsuit against his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi over rights to the group’s name. Iommi is accused of illegally registering with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to be the sole owner of the Sabbath moniker. “The Black Sabbath trademark should be equally owned by Geezer (Butler), Bill (Ward), Tony and I as (that is) the true Black Sabbath lineup,” writes Osbourne in a statement. 2009

Legendary producer Phil Spector (The Beatles, John Lennon and George Harrison) is sentenced to a prison term of 19 years to life for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, who was shot to death at Spector’s mansion in ’03. 2009

Bob Dylan is among the Medal of Freedom recipients. During a White House ceremony, President Obama says he’s “extremely grateful” to be able to personally thank the honorees “for the great work they have done” in America and worldwide. The Medal of Freedom is America’s highest civilian honor. 2012

“How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” is Florence + The Machine’s third studio effort. The Markus Dravs produced album debuts atop the Billboard 200 making it the band’s first #1 on that chart. 2015
