“Human Touch” and “Lucky Town,” Bruce Springsteen’s 9th and 10th albums, respectively, are released simultaneously. Not a double album but two single albums. A creative spurt at the end of the “Human Touch” sessions produced “Lucky Town.”   1992

“Human Touch Peaks at #2 on the Billboard 200 while “Lucky Town” goes to #3.


Red Hot Chili Peppers are honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard, adjacent to Amoeba Records. 2022

“Stadium Arcadium” may represent the Peppers’ commercial peak but it’s “Blood Sugar Sex Magik,” that’s their undisputed crowning achievement. It’s over 70 minutes of Punk, Rock and Thrash that clearly illustrates the group’s vitality and power.

“The Mountain” is the 13th single from Three Days Grace to top the Mainstream Rock Chart equaling Van Halen for the most #1’s on the chart.  Van Halen’s last #1 was “Without You” in ’98.  2018

Chuck Berry releases one of the cornerstones of Rock n’ Roll, “Johnny B. Goode.” 1958

The Jimi Hendrix Experience embark on their debut U.K. tour. During the London show Hendrix torches his guitar. Another first. 1967

Def Leppard’s “Adrenalize,” their first album following the death of guitarist Steve Clark, is released. Though brought in to replace Clark, guitarist Vivian Campbell (ex-Dio and Whitesnake) is not heard on the album, which debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200. 1992

Thirty Seconds To Mars’ “From Yesterday” replaces Three Days Grace’s “Pain” at the top of Billboard’s Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. Meanwhile, “From Yesterday” sits just outside the Top 10 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks at #11. 2007

Mastodon unfurl “Emperor Of Sand.” The album also goes to #7 on the Billboard 200, making it Mastodon’s third consecutive Top 10 album (“The Hunter” and “Once More ‘Round the Sun” were the first two).  2017

Bruce Springsteen’s open letter against New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s budget plan is printed in the Asbury Park Press. Springsteen states the governor’s policy favors the state’s most wealthy residents. 2011

Ryan Adams is among the artists who perform during the all-star “Stand For Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU” fundraiser streamed on Facebook. The event brings in nearly $150,000 for the ACLU.  2017

Madame Tussauds London unveils its David Bowie figure in partnership with Bowie’s estate. Bowie is presented as his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust.  2022

The Cure’s frontman Robert Smith continues his battle with scalpers who get around Ticketmaster’s transfer limitations to inflate concert ticket prices. Smith confirms that approximately 7,000 tickets purchased using fake accounts or listed on resale sites have been canceled. “Original fees paid on those tickets will be donated to Amnesty International and the tickets themselves will be resold to fans,” posts Smith.  2023

The roof of the Apollo Theater in Belvidere, IL collapses just before Death Metal band Morbid Angel is scheduled to perform.  One person is killed with dozens hospitalized – five suffer severe injuries. The Belvidere Police Department says 260 people were in the venue at the time as a heavy storm rolled through the area. 2023

Bruce Springsteen makes a guest appearance “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”  The Boss wants to meet Larry David, the show’s star, because he admires Larry’s political activities.  However, Larry gives Bruce COVID resulting in the cancellation of the L.A. stop on his farewell tour.  This makes Larry persona non grata among Springsteen fans.  2024
