PETA Bites Staind Frontman
Staind frontman Aaron Lewis (pictured front and center) took to Instagram earlier this week to post a photo of him and three fellow hunters spelling out “Trump 24” using what appeared to be 32 dead coyotes.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) had a strong response. “How vile and pathetic that a washed-up musician, desperate for relevance, terrorized and killed animals to get a brief taste of the attention.”
The post also generated numerous negative responses with one person calling the photo “sociopath shit,” another termed it “disturbing,” a self-identified Republican wrote “this is horrible” with a fifth person adding “it takes a very evil heart to do this.”
Lewis, a lifelong hunter, noted that no one else in the band is a hunter before adding “the drummer (Sal Giancarelli) is borderline PETA, so… I make it a point to talk to him about it as much as I can.”
Hunting coyotes year-round is legal in many states.
