Shinedown’s Back On Top
“Dance, Kid, Dance” is Shinedown’s 20th song to reach #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart (dated 3/15). It follows the four-week rule of “A Symptom Of Being Human” in January-February earlier this year.
The band’s first #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart came in 2005 with “Save Me.”
Shinedown has the most #1s on the chart. Three Days Grace is next with 18.
“Dance, Kid, Dance” and “Three Six Five,” which is currently in the Top 20 on the Adult Pop Airplay and Alternative Airplay charts, are expected to be on Shinedown’s eighth studio album. No released date has been announced,
“We needed to approach everything different this time,” shared frontman Brent Smith (pictured) discussing the upcoming album. “The last two albums (“Attention! Attention!” and “Planet Zero”) were both conceptual so it was important for us to really ask ourselves creatively where do we want to go? The answer to that was we want to go everywhere so there was no specific direction.”
