“Ozzfest 2002 Uncensored” Documentary
The official Ozz Fest YouTube channel has unfurled the documentary “Ozzfest 2002 Uncensored,” a twenty-minute film delving into “the history of Ozzfest from its inception in 1996 to 2001,” with narration by Kurt Loder.
Ozzfest was created, in part, to provide a performing platform for Ozzy Osbourne. It came about when Ozzy’s wife/manager Sharon couldn’t get her husband booked on Lollapalooza. She decided to take matters into her own hands and also saw Ozzfest as an antidote to Grunge (which was already on the decline).
The clip features the behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with Ozzy, Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Marilyn Manson, Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) and, David Draiman (Disturbed).
Sharon sums up Ozzfest saying, “when the kids stop coming we’ll pack up and go home.”
