Queen Guitarist Hosts “The Badgers, The Farmers And Me”

BBC 2″ will broadcast “Brian May: The Badgers, The Farmers And Me” on August 23rd.

The program follows the Queen guitarist on his decade-long opposition to the controversial badger cull, implemented to curb the spread of the disease in cattle. May and his team have organized marches, protests, and a petition to end the practice.

The culling of badgers in England began over a decade ago to protect cattle. It has caused a divide between wildlife activists and farmers, whose livelihoods depend on the health of their cattle herds. Under current law, any cow testing positive for TB must be slaughtered, placing immense pressure on the agricultural community.
