Smashing Pumpkins Tribute Due In August
“Sending Hearts To All My Dearies – A Tribute To The Smashing Pumpkins” arrives digitally on August 14th, with a deluxe 2xLP vinyl release featuring multiple exclusive multi-color variants set for October 16th.
The collection, titled by frontman Billy Corgan, takes its name from a lyric in the song “Mayonaise” (“I send a heart to all my dearies when your life is so so dreary”), off the classic “Siamese Dream” album.
The set features interpretations of Smashing Pumpkins songs including “Bulltet With Butterfly Wings,” “Jellybelly” “1979,” “Tonight Tonight” and “Hummer,” a “Siamese Dream” track reimagined by Tame Impala.
“‘Siamese Dream’ was the soundtrack to my high school years and ‘Hummer’ is the song that takes me back there in the most potent way,” says Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.
