Pink Floyd Rights Go For $400 Million
Pink Floyd reportedly have sold the rights to their recorded music, name and likeness to Sony for $400 million.
A number of parties, including Warner Music, Hipgnosis and BMG, were interested in doing a deal that would expand the use of Floyd’s catalog through licensing agreements in movies, TV shows, gaming and other media.
The deal follows failed attempts to forge an agreement between long-feuding bandmates guitarist David Gilmour and bassist Roger Waters. Gilmour long favored doing a deal.
