Wrongful Death Lawsuit Dogs KISS

The family of KISS guitar tech Fran Stueber, who contracted COVID and died during the band’s “End Of The Road World Tour,” won a round in their wrongful death lawsuit against KISS members – guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley, bassist Gene Simmons and KISS’s longtime manager Doc McGee.

Tour promoter Live Nation and hotel chain Marriott (where Stueber died while quarantined), were also named as defendants.

McGee, Simmons and Stanley challenged the complaint in a motion first filed late last year, arguing that the defendants and Stueber’s family had already settled the matter in ’23 through a $250,000 Worker’s Compensation settlement with the KISS Company – not the individuals involved (Stanley, Simmons and McGee) or the corporations Live Nation and Marriott. All of whom are accused of negligence and for not taking appropriate measures to keep tour staff safe.

A motion to have the case tossed was overruled in an L.A. court on 6/21.
