
U2 are now the fourth band to have a Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 in five straight decades.
Released earlier this month U2’s “Songs Of Surrender,” re-recorded versions of some of U2’s biggest songs, debuted at #5 on the chart.
The band’s first Top 10 album came in ‘87 with “The Joshua Tree.” “Rattle And Hum” went to #1 in ’88.
“Achtung Baby” hit #1 in ‘91. “Zooropa” and “Pop” also went to #1 in the ‘90s.
In ‘00, “All That You Can’t Leave Behind” peaked at #3. Later in the decade “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb” and “No Line On The Horizon” landed in the Top 10.
‘14’s “Songs Of Innocence” went to #9 while the ‘17 follow-up, “Songs Of Experience,” debuted at #1.
