2011 Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is ejected from a Southwest Airlines flight because his “pants sagged too low.” Asked by a flight attendant to hike his pants higher, the singer responds by asking if there weren’t “better things to do than worry about that?” That was the wrong question.

2014 Survivor frontman Jimi Jamison dies at his home in Memphis at age 63. The cause of death is listed as hemorrhagic brain stroke, with “acute methamphetamine intoxication contributing.”

2015 Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister stops the band’s show in Austin. “I can’t do it,” he tells the audience. Unable to continue he leads his bandmates off the stage. It is the second show in a week that is cut short. The tour is subsequently cancelled. At this point Lemmy is very sick and the end is near.

2016 Yes frontman Jon Anderson receives the Prog God award at the Progressive Music Awards in London.

2016 English Heritage celebrate the life and career of Freddie Mercury with a blue plaque at the singer and songwriter’s first home in Feltham, West London. Mercury’s parents bought the house in ‘64 after the family left Zanzibar.

2021 Marilyn Manson’s attorney enters a plea of not guilty in a case where Manson is accused of approaching a videographer at a ‘19 concert in New Hampshire and allegedly spit and blew his nose on her. Manson is charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple assault.

2023 Travis Barker‘s “urgent family matter” forces Blink-182 to postpone U.K. and Ireland tour dates as the drummer returns to the U.S. Barker’s wife, the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star Kourtney Kardashian, has a “brief” hospital stay.
