1992″The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion” is #1 on the Billboard 200.

The second studio album by the Black Crowes is the first with guitarist Marc Ford (replacing Jeff Cease) and keyboardist Eddie Harsch. 

2009 Green Day’s “21st Century Breakdown” tops the Billboard 200.

The set moves 215,000 copies in only three days. It’s the group’s second #1 album. “American Idiot” was the first.

2024 Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name“ joins Spotify’s Billions Club (a billion streams on the platform). 

The track is from the ’86 album “Slippery When Wet.”

2005 Despite efforts by the Greek Orthodox Church, Slipknot performs at the Lykavittos Theatre in Athens. The church campaigned to cancel the show because they disapproved of the band’s ‘shocking’ appearance and felt their song lyrics and concerts promoted Satanism.

2008 Everclear play the first of two shows for U.S. soldiers when they take the stage at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. “There are folks in uniform all over the world, and at home, looking out for us-and to play for them is an honor,” says frontman Art Alexakis. A second concert for military personnel is on Oahu five weeks later (7/6).

2013 As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis posts a bond and is released from the San Diego County jail after being arrested for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill his wife.

2013 Jack White pays $142,000 in back taxes for Detroit’s historic Masonic Temple saving it from a threatened auction. Masonic directors rename one of the venue’s several stages the Jack White Theater.

2015 The Foo Fighters pay tribute to Thin Lizzy by performing “Jailbreak” at Slane Castle, Ireland. “If I could be in any other Rock band in the f***ing world,” says Foo fronter Dave Grohl, “it would be Thin Lizzy.”

2017 Liam Gallagher, of Oasis fame, plays his first solo concert in the U.K. in his hometown of Manchester, to benefit the British Red Cross. This comes after the 5/22 terrorist attack in Manchester following pop singer Ariana Grande’s concert. 

2017 Pearl Jam’s lead guitarist Mike McCready publishes a photo book, aptly titled “Of Potato Heads and Polaroids: My Life Inside and Out of Pearl Jam.”  The book contains photos of celebrities who have crossed McCready’s path. 

2018 Jack White (White Stripes) plays a pop-up concert at Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C. between his two sold out shows at local venue.  “Seven Nation Army” is among the songs performed by White and his backing band – with student participation. Only the school’s principal and another school administrator had prior knowledge of the concert. 

2019 The mini-documentary, “Misery Evolving: The Untold Story of As I Lay Dying” is released to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month.  The film shows the “personal side of (band members) experiences through the years” after returning to the stage following frontman Tim Lambesis’ ’16 release from prison. Lambesis was in prison for attempting to arrange a hit on his wife. 

2023 Steel Panther perform “Eyes Of A Panther” on the 18th season premiere of “America’s Got Talent.” The band receives a standing ovation before and after they play.  Six albums into their career, Steel Panther nail the first-round audition saying they are in it to win the talent competition.  Sadly, they don’t.

2023 Paramore’s Hayley Williams kicks out rowdy fans during a Madison Square Garden concert. Two people in the crowd apparently began shoving others around them. Williams then abruptly stops mid-song to address the pair. “Both of you need to find somewhere else to take care of that shit because that’s not happening here.”  Security steps in to remove the pair.
