Guitarist Nita Strauss is planning surgery in late next month to repair a torn meniscus.

The injury occurred seven months ago when Strauss was touring with Alice Cooper.  She continued performing and is now working with Demi Lovato.  The busy schedule didn’t do her knee “any favors.”  In fact, the knee has gotten worse and non-surgical solutions haven’t led to an improvement.

Strauss, who is also the in-house guitarist at Los Angeles Rams football games, plans to have the surgery after the Rams last home-game of the season on Christmas Day against the Denver Broncos.

At this point, it seems unlikely the Rams will make the play-offs so Strauss would be good to go. The surgery is expected to sideline Strauss for a month as she recuperates.
