Nirvana’s “Nevermind” Still Charting
Nirvana’s Grunge classic “Nevermind” has become the ninth album to ever spend 700 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Nevermind” was released September 24th, 1991. Just weeks later it knocked Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” from the top spot on the Billboard 200.
Produced by Butch Vig, Nirvana’s second full-length effort was the band’s first major label release and also the first to feature drummer Dave Grohl.
Currently, “Nevermind” sits at #120 on the Billboard chart, lodged behind Linkin Park’s “Hybrid Theory.”
Earlier this year, Metallica’s self-titled 1991 set (better known as “The Black Album”), became the fourth album to spend 750 weeks on the chart.
