Metallica‘s Blackened has unveiled Blackened x Wes Henderson, a straight Kentucky bourbon whiskey that’s the second release in the “Masters Of Whiskey Series.”
Blackened whiskey undergoes a sonic enhancement process. The finishing barrels are subjected to the low hertz frequencies of Metallica‘s music. The sound waves cause vibrations leading to a greater interaction between the whiskey and the wood barrels, thereby extracting more flavors.
Henderson, a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame, was responsible for creating the whisky’s blend which features notes of pear, raisin, cinnamon and hints of pear, honey, chipotle cinnamon, vanilla, barn hay, and walnut.
The limited-edition whiskey is approximately $100.00 per bottle.
Also, Blackened is making a $25,000 donation to Team Rubicon, a non-profit organization that is working to repair the damage from last year’s tornadoes is Western Kentucky. In addition, Metallica and their foundation All Within My Hands will match the donation for a total of $50,000.
