Queen‘s Brian May has been appointed a Knight Bachelor as part of the King’s 2023 New Year Honours List.
The guitarist and astrophysicist co-founded Queen where his playing and songwriting contributions helped Queen become among the most successful acts in music history.
The annual tradition celebrates the achievements of individuals in the United Kingdom.
The title of Knight Bachelor, the most ancient sort of British knight, is the basic rank granted to a man who has been knighted by the monarch – it’s regularly awarded to people in entertainment.
May also received a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) in 2005.
