Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson are among the 2023 nominees for induction into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

Other nominees include Bryan Adams, Blondie (Clem Burke / Debbie Harry / Chris Stein), The Doobie Brothers (Tom Johnston / Michael McDonald / Patrick Simmons), Jeff Lynne (E.L.O.), R.E.M. (Bill Berry / Peter Buck / Mike Mills / Michael Stipe), Patti Smith and Steve Winwood (Traffic).

A songwriter with a significant catalog qualifies for induction twenty years after their first song has a notable commercial impact.

Heart’s debut album, “Dreamboat Annie,” which featured the title track, “Magic Man” and “Crazy On You” arrived in 1975.  Those songs were written exclusively by Ann and Nancy,

Over their career the Wilson Sisters composed “Barracuda” (with Heart’s Roger Fisher and Michael Derosier) and “Straight On” (with Sue Ennis).

The Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Ceremony Gala is scheduled for June 15th in New York City.
