In July, as a charity fundraiser, Behemoth’s web store sold all-black teddy bears with an ‘X’ over both eyes, the band’s insignia and a tag that said, in part, “100% Satanic.”
But recently when the Polish band tried to donate sale receipts to UNICEF Poland and the Company With Heart program the funds rejected due to band’s use of Satanic messaging in their music and visual art.
“Unfortunately, we would like to inform you that due to the nature of the messages accompanying the products you sell, we cannot qualify you for participation in this particular Program,” reads a message from UNICEF posted on Behemoth’s web store site.
Behemoth bassist Orion called UNICEF’s decision “pathetic.”
