The Arcs

When the duo of Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach, known as the Black Keys, went on tour they employed backing musicians. That gig led to another.

In addition to Auerbach, The Arcs consisted of two former Keys backing musicians; Nick Movshon (bass) and Leon Michels (sax/producer) and a current tour member; Richard Swift (multi-instrumentalist), who was also in The Shins. Guitarist Kenny Vaughan, pedal steel player Russ Pahl and drummer Homer Steinweiss, with backing vocals by Mariachi Flor de Toloache, a female mariachi band, completed the line-up.

Their debut album "Yours, Dreamily" was recorded over a two week period in Queens, NY, L.A., and at Auerbach's Nashville studio.

Lead single "Stay In My Corner" was inspired by the '15 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao boxing match. That was followed by Auerbach's autobiographical "Outta My Mind."

Most of the album's tracks, which incorporated Rock, Soul, Latin and Country, were written by Auerbach and Michels.
