There are a couple of things that jump out regarding Adelitas Way.
First, the WWE is a great promotional vehicle for an up and coming Metal band. Second, their sophomore set "Home School Valedictorian" was "all hits all the time" (okay, four times) on the Active Rock Radio chart. Third, and finally, the Las Vegas based group has had a fair amount of attrition on rhythm and lead guitar (Chris Iorio, Creighton Bibbs and Keith Wallen). The only remaining original members are vocalist Rick DeJesus and drummer Trevor "Tre" Stafford.
Adelitas Way's first single, '09's "Invincible," was the official theme song for WWE Superstars and was featured in the Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 video game.
But just a few months after their self-titled debut album was unfurled guitarist Chris Iorio left for personal reasons and was replaced by Creighton Bibbs, who rode out the remainder of the group's tour.
Prior to the release of Adelitas Way's '11 sophomore effort, "Home School Valedictorian," they recruited lead guitarist Robert Zakaryan.
"Home School Valedictorian," produced two #1 Active Rock Radio hits ("Sick" and "Criticize") and two Top 5 placements ("The Collapse" at #2 and "Alive" at #4).
With initial work underway on the Adelitas Way's third album, guitarist Keith Wallen announced his departure, for personal reasons (seemed to be a theme), via Facebook. Also taking leave in '13 was bassist Derek Johnston, who had been with Adelitas Way since '09, prior to the release of the group's debut. Andrew Cushing stepped in.
With Grammy Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz at the controls Adelitas Way recorded "Stuck" in Nashville. The '14 set featured the single "Dog On A Leash" which was another Active Rock Top 10 hit (#8).
