Act Of Defiance

When two members of a band abruptly leave, you can bet something is up. Drummer Shawn Drover quit Megadeth after a ten year tenure in November, '14. On the very next day guitarist Chris Broderick also bailed. The two left to form Act Of Defiance with former Scar The Martyr singer Henry Derek and Shadows Fall bassist Matt Bachand.

Next they inked a worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records and the recorded their debut album, "Birth And The Burial," with producer Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Shadows Fall). The final mix and mastering was also handled by Zeuss.

"I am really enjoying the ability to create what is a killer mix of Thrash and modern Metal," said Broderick. "It has a unique combination ranging from Thrash to Classical influences."

"What thrills me the most is the fact that we wanted this band to be 100% pure Heavy Metal," added Drover.

"Birth And The Burial" received generally positive reviews but hardly set the world on fire.

Act Of Defiance issued their sophomore album, "Old Scars, New Wounds," two years later.
